Youth Culture abounds in IRB
Indian Rocks Beach is a child-friendly town; offering numerous youth activities which include art programs, a skate park, numerous playgrounds, a little league baseball field, tennis and basketball courts, summer camps & skimboard lessons on the beach.
Retirees, Seniors & Snowbird Culture
Indian Rocks Beach is a senior-friendly town; offering retirees a wide range of community activities, festivals & events, volunteer opportunities, art classes, senior baseball league, nature parks, wildlife observations & interactions, community gardening, yoga on the beach, and so much more! As previously mentioned, there are many civic organizations that provide opportunities to get involved with the IRB community but if you're looking for activities other than community service, you don't have to look far! IRB has several clubs or organized activities that may peak your interest. If you enjoy gardening you may want to participate in the IRB community Garden, or maybe you enjoy a bit of friendly competition; then the IRB Tennis Club or the IRB Senior softball League might be the perfect fit for you. Maybe you're looking to strengthen your body and mind, if that's the case then you may enjoy a little Yoga on the beach. Want to spend some time with local wildlife; then you may want to spend some time volunteering with the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary or the McGough Nature Park. Or maybe you are feeling landlocked and want to spend some time on the local waterways... then the IRB Boat Club may be the perfect solution!
IRB is a VERY Pet-Friendly Community
Pets are a big part of the culture in IRB and many of the vacation accommodations in IRB offer pet-friendly lodging options which is why residents and visitors are regularly seen walking the streets in IRB with their four-legged friends. Many pet parents and their pooches also enjoy regular visits to the pet-friendly pubs and restaurants located throughout the city, and the IRB leash-free dog park is a regular hang-out, as well. IRB residents love their furry friends; so much so that they created Friends of IRB Dog Park which is a local organization that helps support the City's off-leash dog park. Clearly, IRB-ers warmly welcome and invite all visiting furry friends and their humans to experience the park. You can also support this great organization through membership or by donating food, supplies, etc. Be sure to checkout their website for more information! In addition to our local dog park, there is also a dog beach at the Belleair Causeway Bridge Park, where pets and their owners can enjoy sunning, swimming and fishing together (unfortunately, pets are not allowed on the beach in IRB).
